What is Overworld?

Well, it’s my most trusted pal…

Everyday, I trek across the land and record its rich history. Using Overworld, I am able to log, map, and track important places, people, and things. With Overworld, I can draw a vast world with ease, then zoom in and edit every little detail. And, of course, you don’t have to edit every small thing at the beginning. A world needs time to develop and mature. Worlds are like good mead. They only get better with time.

At the World Level, there is an overview of the whole map. Here, Map Keepers can edit the world in broad strokes with the brush tool, shaping the lay of the land. With the outline tool, creating beautiful continents is a breeze.

At the Continent and Region Level, Map Keepers begin editing a greater degree of detail. Kingdoms, large cities, major roads, snowy mountain ranges, and arid desserts are labeled and placed at this level. Here, Points of Interest are used to mark important locations and notes.

Overworld helps make you a Map Keeper. Maybe just an apprentice at first… maybe one day, you’ll even fill my boots.

But not today, of course.

It’s time you became a Map Keeper, lad. Pick up Overworld and get to work. Your players will thank you, and I guarantee you’ll be a more organized Human. Or Dwarf. Or, gods forbid, Elf.
